Contact Community Centre is delighted to welcome you to join us. We have a large variety of daytime classes for men and women.

Contact offers many daytime classes and activities including Basic Sewing, Beading & Jewellery Making, Bobbin Lace, Book Club, Cake Decorating, Card Making, Counted Cross Stitch, Embroidery, Knitting and Crochet, Mahjong, Mosaics, Patchwork, Paper Tole, Clay Beading, Porcelain Dolls, Scrapbooking, Smocking, Spinners, Teddy Bear Making, Tunisian Crochet. Water Colour Painting, as well as a full range of exercise groups such as Yoga, Yoga for Seniors, Pilates, Tai Chi and Zumba Classes.

Beginners to advanced students welcome at any time.

Writing Life Stories – Memoir Writing
Tuesdays 9.45−11.45 AND 12.15 – 2.15pm ($8 per session))

Each life is unique and filled with experiences that shape us.  Writing life stories is about preserving memories.  It’s a way of telling loved ones and future generations what it is like to be you, the lessons you’ve learned and the knowledge you’ve gained.  Ideal for anyone wanting to begin writing their life stories.  There will be some readings, discussion and writing tasks to start you on your journey.
Teacher: Sue Gunningham author of All the Days After and Waldene.

Unleash your Creativity – Art with no Brush now on:
Tuesday 12.15 – 2.15pm AND Thursday 9.45am – 11.45am ($12 per session)

Do you want to create contemporary art using ‘no brush’ techniques? Challenge your creative self by substituting your paint brush to develop many colourful, unique, intriguing and exciting artworks, styles and painting techniques using a variety of surfaces and media including: Fluid/Flow art; Pull-string/chain art; Ink techniques and more.  Learn how to create marbling, lacing, cells, ribbon layers, curves, blooms, swipe, feathering, flower petals, leaf effects, shapes and so much more. All Ages, Genders & Beginners welcome!

Teacher:  Katherine Lewis is a member of various Artists’ Societies: since 1995, the Victorian Artists’ Society and Banyule Pinpoint; since 2015, the Heidelberg Artists’ Society; Contemporary Artists’ Society; Victorian Pastel Artists’ Society; Wildlife Artists’ Society Australia and since 2021, the Diamond Valley Artists’ Society and has exhibited extensively most recently at the 461Gallery, 461 Chapel Street, South Yarra.

Term 2:  Health & Wellbeing Classes held in the Annexe: Tues 22 April – Thurs 3 July
Due to Banyule Council maintenance, classes held in the Hall will commence:  Tue 29 April – to Thurs 3 July

Term 3: Tues 22 July – Thurs 18 Sept
Term 4: Tues 7 October – Tues 2 Dec

Christmas Break-up Wed 3 December.
